          Miran Mohar is one of the five members of the IRWIN artist group, the visual arts branch of the Neue Slowenische Kunst [New Slovenian Art] collective founded in Slovenia in 1984. Influenced by the rise of conceptualism in the West, the collective positions group identity above individual creativity and production. In their output in diverse fields such as painting, works in public spaces, sculpture, installation and publishing, they combine symbols borrowed from totalitarian regimes and belief systems with art historical references, conveying them into new contexts.
