However, it was a transformative encounter with the raw, human vulnerability found in the photography of Diane Arbus that redirected his trajectory toward a more visceral form of expression. This early period of formation, which later led him to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, instilled in him a fascination with the way light and shadow can articulate the complexities of the human soul.
