Wang Wenbin courtesy name as Yiren, born in Qingdao, Shandong province. He was the former chief and editor of Art Section of Shandong People’s Publishing House. In 1955 he went to China Central Academy of Fine Arts for further study and then entered Luo Gongliu Studio. He graduated from the Oil Painting Department, China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He taught in the Affiliated Middle School of China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He was the professor of Oil Painting Department and Mural Painting Department, the member of the Academic Committee of the China Central Academy of Fine Arts and Chinese Artists Association, and the member of Mural Committee of Chinese Artists Association.

Wang Wenbin received his education at Nanjing Jinling High School and the University of Foreign Languages in China, specializing in French.
His academic background laid a foundation for his later diplomatic career alongside his artistic pursuits.

Following graduation, Wang Wenbin joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
He held various positions including Deputy Director and Director of the Policy Research Office.
Served as Political Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Mauritius and Counsellor within the Department of Policy Planning.
Ambassadorial Role: From 2018 to 2020, he served as China's Ambassador to Tunisia.
Currently functions as a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Director of the Information Department, and a member of the Communist Party of China – becoming the 32nd spokesperson since the position’s establishment in 1983.
