Her journey began organically, fueled by childhood encounters with the melodies of nature—a formative influence that continues to permeate her distinctive style. Unlike many contemporary artists who center the human figure, Smitha’s canvases predominantly celebrate the intricate beauty of the natural world, elevating often-overlooked creatures such as snails, moths, ants, and chameleons into poetic protagonists within vast, dreamlike terrains.
Her artistic evolution is marked by a transition from purely biological observation to a more complex, metaphysical exploration. While her early works focused on the vibrant life of insects and small animals, her later compositions began to weave human presence and regional rituals into these immersive ecologies.
