Payne, he formed Payne & Payne Studios, becoming instrumental in producing iconic oilette postcards for Raphael Tuck & Sons and undertaking extensive commissions for publishers like Gale and Polden—collaborating with fellow military artists such as Edgar Alfred Holloway, John McNeill, and Ernest Ibbetson.
