The exhibition Particle of Inch was a commission by Magali Reus. Reus has created two new series of works which were installed within an architectural construction designed in response to theThe Calder’s industrial space.Reus draws her subjects from the unassuming details of everyday life, from domestic and crafted objects to industrial design, colliding the messy residues of human activity with the clean-cut surfaces of mass-production. Using casting, moulding, airbrushing and other fabrication techniques to create her precisely rendered forms, the familiar is disrupted by Reus’ manipulation of her materials and shifts in scale.
