A Life of Art and Architecture
Napoléon Bourassa was a prominent Canadian architect, painter, and writer based in Montreal, Quebec. Born in L'Acadie, Quebec, he studied at Sulpician College in Montreal. His education continued through travels to Paris, Rome, and Florence, accompanied by the German painter Johann Friedrich Overbeck.
As an architect, Bourassa designed several notable structures, including:
- Chapelle Notre-Dame de Lourdes de Montréal
- Institut Nazareth et Louis Braille
- Church of Montebello, Quebec
- St. Anne Shrine in Fall River, Massachusetts (with architect Louis G. Destremps)
