Born in the village of Kosmas of Kynouria, Greece, Giorgos Rorris has emerged as one of the most significant representatives of contemporary figurative art. His journey into the heart of painting began with rigorous formal training at the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he studied under the esteemed masters Panagictis Tetsis and Yiannis Valavanides between 1982 and 1987. This foundational period in Athens provided him with a deep connection to the traditions of Greek painting, which he would later expand through international exploration. Supported by prestigious scholarships from the Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation and the Bakala Brothers Foundation, Rorris traveled to Paris to refine his vision at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, working within the studio of Leonardo Cremonini.

Rorris’s artistic philosophy is rooted not in a desire to philosophize about the inherent nature of objects, but rather in a profound fascination with their appearance as he internalizes them.
