The Beast is a modern interpretation of the complex and equivocal symbolic representation of a snake and a dragon. The artist consciously transgresses the boundaries between high and low culture. The sculpture is a reinterpretation of the legend of the Wawel dragon and a response to the commercialisation of the historic centre of Krakow. The polysemy of form, which oscillates between the image of a cuddly toy and a monster is also an allusion to Jeff Koons
