laura footes is a british artist born in birmingham in 1991. she studied modern languages at the university of birmingham, l’université de toulouse ii and the sorbonne before beginning her formal art education at the prince's drawing school (now the royal drawing school) in 2012. she has since completed courses at the art student’s league of new york and the royal drawing school. footes currently lives and works in margate, england. her work explores themes of dysfunction, particularly in relation to the body, as she lives with an incurable debilitating disease. she has exhibited her work at various galleries, including the royal drawing school, shrine, and tracey emin foundation.
