As a student of the Italian painter Ettore De Maria Bergler, Rizzo first encountered the elegance of the Art Nouveau style, yet his spirit was far too restless to remain anchored in the past. His travels would eventually lead him to the heart of the modern revolution, where he sought to capture the pulse of a changing world through a lens of geometric synthesis and dynamic energy.
The trajectory of his career was irrevocably altered by his time in Rome, where he personally met the Futurist founder Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and immersed himself in the legendary studio of Giacomo Balla. This exposure to the cutting edge of modernism allowed Rizzo to integrate the principles of Cubism, the Bauhaus, and Art Deco into a unique visual language. He became a leading figure of Sicilian Futurism, a movement that sought to translate the mechanical dynamism of the industrial age into the cultural fabric of his homeland.
