Gottfried Libalt (1610–1666): A Master of Dutch Golden Age Still Life Gottfried Libalt (or Libaldt), German painter of still lifes, landscapes and religious reliefs. His oeuvre today includes 30 paintings and one piece of graphic art. In the Saint-Petri-Kirche, Hamburg two famous oil paintings by the artist, the Dream of Jacob, and the Birth of Christ can be found. In the painter's lifetime Libalt was primarily active in Hamburg and Vienna.
