life and career daniël boone, also known as daniel adriaensen (1631/32 – 1686), was a flemish painter renowned for his genre scenes of boorish types, reminiscent of the style of adriaen brouwer and egbert van heemskerk. besides being an artist, adriaensen was also active as an art dealer. the latter part of his career was spent in the dutch republic and england. early life and training according to the artist biographer jacob campo weyerman, daniël boone was born in 1631 or 1632 in borgerhout, a village near antwerp. it is believed that his master was joos van craesbeeck, a painter from antwe…
