          Two Geisha

          Kitagawa Utamaro was a woodblock print innovator utilizing different perspectives in his works. In addition to his innovative half-length portraits, Utamaro was known for portraying commonplace activities. Two Geisha is a prime example of his depiction of everyday activity.
