This foundation proved crucial when Czechoslovakia was partitioned by Nazi Germany in 1938, forcing Kubiš into exile and ultimately shaping his commitment to freedom.

The Crucible of Exile and Training

Following the Munich Agreement, Kubiš’s life took a dramatic turn as he fled to Kraków, Poland, joining a nascent Czechoslovak unit.
