          Livet og kunsten hos Joris Van Son

          Født i Antwerpen, Belgien, var Joris Van Son en flamsk stillebenmaler, der opnåede status som mester i Sankt Lukas-gildet i Antwerpen i løbet af gildet for 1643/1644. Hans kunstneriske virke var bemærkelsesværdigt mangfoldigt og omfattede en række forskellige undergenrer inden for stilleben, herunder frugtstilleben, blomsterstilleben, banketstilleben, vanitas-stilleben, guirlande-malerier og de overdådige pronkstillevens.
