Initially operating largely outside established galleries, Iannone’s career gained significant recognition in 2005 with a feature at the Tate Modern's “Siglo” exhibition, followed by inclusion in the Whitney Biennial in 2006, marking a pivotal shift in her visibility and critical reception. Her work, particularly "I Was Thinking Of You" (1975/2005), became synonymous with her unique approach – a blend of autobiographical narrative, ecstatic unity, and unapologetic exploration of the female body.
