charles knox robinson iii, an american actor, was born on april 13, 1932, in orange, new jersey. his family's theatrical background paved the way for his acting career, which began at the age of three on broadway. robinson graduated phi beta kappa and magna cum laude from princeton in 1958.

acting career

robinson's acting career spanned over five decades, with appearances in nearly fifty motion pictures and television shows. notable roles include ensign bordelles in the sand pebbles (1966) and nathan anderson in shenandoah (1965). his full birth name, charles knox robinson, was used as his stage name from 1972 onward.

philanthropy

robinson's philanthropic efforts were marked by the establishment of the torchlight project, which aided impoverished children in foreign countries. he was also a member of several organizations, including the academy of motion picture arts and sciences, screen actors guild, and actors' equity association.

legacy

robinson's legacy is not limited to his acting career but also extends to his philanthropic work. his contributions to the torchlight project have had a lasting impact on the lives of many.
