          Livet för Bernardo Strozzi

          tidigt liv och utbildning

          Bernardo Strozzi, även känd under namnen il cappuccino och il prete genovese, var en framstående italiensk barockmålare och gravör som föddes 1581 i Genua, Italien. Hans tidiga konstnärliga formande tog sin början i verkstaden hos Cesare Corte, en mindre känd genuesisk målare, vars vägledning lade grunden för Strozzi fram till 1596. Därefter sökte han sig vidare till verkstaden hos Pietro Sorri, en innovativ målare från Siena, som inspirerade Strozzi mot en mer naturlig och levande stil.

          Strozzis livsgärning kan delas in i två betydelsefulla epoker: hans formativa år i Genua och hans senare, mogna skapande i Venedig.
