Fridel Dethleffs-Edelmann was a German painter whose artistic repertoire was defined by portraits, flower still lifes, and landscapes. Her formal training began in her hometown of Karlsruhe, where she studied under Wilhelm Trübner and Alice Proumen before attending the Großherzogliche Malerinnen-Schule. She later became a student of Professor Ernst Würtenberger, mastering oil painting, watercolor, and graphics. Her creative journey was uniquely mobile; following her marriage to Arist Dethleffs, she traveled in a custom-built mobile studio, which allowed her to paint across Europe, the Near East, and Russia.
