Having commenced business in the early 18th century with Alessandro (1660 - before 1735), the Gagliano family’s activity in this instrumental sector continued in Naples until the latter half of the 1800s through the commitment of many other family members, precisely Nicola I (1695 - after 1758), Ferdinando (1724 circa - 1781), Giuseppe (known since 1770 to 1800), Antonio I (1728 - 1795 circa), Giovanni I (1740 circa - 1806), Antonio II (after 1790 - 1860) and Raffaele (1790 circa - 1857).
