Doma: Pioneers of Buenos Aires Street Art

Buenos Aires street art collective doma emerged from the vibrant creative landscape of Argentina in 2000, establishing itself as a cornerstone of contemporary visual culture. Their distinctive style—characterized by bold latex paint murals and collaborative designs featuring whimsical characters—quickly gained recognition for its infectious optimism and innovative approach to public space intervention. The trio comprised of doma, tec, and fase, who collectively spearheaded this movement, redefining urban aesthetics with their energetic vision.
          • Early Influences: doma’s artistic sensibilities were profoundly shaped by the burgeoning graffiti scene in Buenos Aires during the early 2000s, absorbing techniques from established artists while forging a unique path forward.
          • Technique & Style: The collective's signature style revolves around utilizing latex paint—a medium chosen for its durability and ability to achieve luminous colors—to create expansive murals that transform city walls into canvases of imagination. Their characters are instantly recognizable, imbued with playful expressions and inviting postures, reflecting a deliberate effort to engage viewers on an emotional level.

Tec and fase joined forces with doma, creating a dynamic synergy that fueled their creative output and ensured that each project benefited from diverse perspectives. This collective approach fostered experimentation and innovation, resulting in artworks that transcend individual stylistic preferences and embody the essence of shared artistic vision.
