His life was marked by a series of transitions, from an apprenticeship at Vickers Armstrong to a transformative two-year sojourn in Canada. It was during this North American period that a profound shift occurred; deprived of the musical instruments he craved, Meadus turned to the canvas, finding in paint a new language for his inner melodies.

Upon returning to Southampton, Meadus balanced a professional life as a draughtsman for Pirelli Cable Works with an increasingly sophisticated artistic practice.
