He received his early training under his father, the landscape painter Henri Marcette, and later studied with Jean-François Portaels and Louis Artan de Saint-Martin. His career saw him exhibiting in various prestigious venues, including the Salon of Antwerp, the Salon of Brussels, and the Universal Exhibition in Paris. Throughout his professional life, he achieved significant recognition, earning a bronze medal at the Artistic Exhibition in Algiers and a gold medal at the Salon of Ghent.
