His technical skill was such that he was commissioned by the Belgian government to create several works, including the stations of the cross for the Saint-Jacques church in Bruges.

Van Hollebeke was an active participant in the Belgian art scene, exhibiting his work at various triennial exhibitions and the Historical Exhibition of Belgian Art 1830-1880. His notable works include:
