A Multidisciplinary Voice of the DDR
Wasja Götze is a German painter, graphic artist, writer, and Liedermacher. Born in Mügeln, his creative life was deeply intertwined with the cultural landscape of the DDR. He studied interior design and applied graphics at the Hochschule für industrielle Formgestaltung in Halle – Burg Giebichenstein, studying under Friedrich Engemann, Walter Funkat, and Lothar Zitzmann. His professional career included significant work as a stage and costume designer for the Volksbühne Berlin, the Deutsche Theater Ostberlin, and the Landestheater Halle.
