The Life and Travels of Alf Bachmann
Born in Tczew, Poland, Alf Bachmann was a German painter and draftsperson. His academic journey took him through various institutions, including gymnasiums in Breslau, Münster, Schnepfenthal, and Berlin, eventually leading him to study at the Kunstakademie Königsberg under Max Schmidt. His life was marked by extensive travels to diverse coastal and remote regions, including the North Sea islands of Juist and Sylt, St. Peter in Eiderstedt, and Föhr. His explorations reached far beyond Europe, encompassing Le Havre, Sweden, Spitzbergen, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, the Scilly Islands, Normandy, Portugal, Tenerife, Egypt, Patagonia, Spain, and Gotland.
