Born in Galanta, Slovakia, Ivan Pavle is a painter and graphic artist who has dedicated his career to the exploration of the human form. After studying engineering, he transitioned to the fine arts, graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava under the guidance of professors Dezider Castiglione and Ivan Vychlopen. His artistic practice is characterized by a focus on figurative painting, including nudes, torsos, and faces obscured by masks. Pavle’s work emphasizes the movement of the body, gestures, and the complex relationships between multiple characters. His technique involves a combination of traditional methods and specific artistic processes, blending classical painting with experimental elements to engage sensory perception.
Beyond the human figure, Pavle’s work frequently explores mythological themes, notably through an ongoing cycle of paintings centered on Babylon. His compositions often feature fictitious landscapes and mysterious characters possessing animal features. His approach to art is described as a pursuit of the essence of creation, utilizing a thorough knowledge of anatomy to depict human emotions in relaxed mental states. His diverse body of work includes painting, drawing, graphics, and sculpture.
