It was within this industrial crucible—learning the secrets of moulding, foundry techniques, and the delicate art of carving—that the foundation of his sculptural mastery was laid. This early immersion in the physical reality of metal and stone provided him with a technical prowess that few of his contemporaries could claim, allowing him to bridge the gap between raw material and transcendent form.
As his innate talent blossomed, the heavy atmosphere of the foundry gave way to the refined halls of the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
