His artistic education began at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, where he studied under Robin Christian Andersen and Herbert Boeckl. His career was marked by significant architectural contributions, including the design of large-scale frescoes for the Klagenfurt main station and the Catholic Teacher Training Institute in Eisenstadt. These works, which were later protected as monuments, demonstrated his ability to integrate art with architectural spaces. Beyond his work in Austria, Hoke traveled extensively, finding inspiration in Peru, Tuscany, Spain, and the Far East.
