Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 1975, Marta Lahens Conde’s artistic journey is deeply intertwined with the rich cultural tapestry and complex history of her homeland. However, it was her subsequent studies at Universidad Interamericana in San Germán, Puerto Rico, culminating in a Master's degree in Painting in 2000, that truly solidified her artistic vision. The Vermont Studio Center residency in 2000 further broadened her horizons, exposing her to a diverse range of artists and perspectives.
