          La vida y evolución artística de William Hart

          Nacido en Paisley, Reino Unido, William Hart emigró a los Estados Unidos con su familia en 1831, estableciéndose finalmente en Albany, Nueva York. Su incipiente trayectoria artística comenzó como aprendiz de un pintor decorativo en Albany y Troy, donde adquirió su primera experiencia decorando paneles de carruajes con paisajes. Tras un periodo dedicado a la pintura de retratos y un intento infructuoso por conseguir encargos en los estados del Medio Oeste, Hart exhibió su primera obra en la National Academy of Design en 1848.
