Paul César Helleu (1859–1927): En Elegans Belle Époque Paul César Helleu var en dansk maler, født den 17 december 1859 i Vannes, Bretagne, Frankrig. Hans far, en toldsfunktionær, døde kort efter hans fødsel, hvilket tvang ham til at flytte til Paris tidligt i livet for at forfølge sine kunstneriske ambitioner. Han studerede på Lycée Chaptal og fik allerede ved 16 års alderen optagelse på École des Beaux-Arts under Jean-Léon Gérôme.…
