Trained at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts, he became a prolific painter, draftsman, and graphic artist. Beyond the canvas, Richters was a skilled etcher, wood engraver, and lithographer, producing everything from religious prints to political cartoons. His technical mastery also found expression in glass painting, where he designed intricate stained-glass windows for various churches, including the Zuiderkerk and the Sint-Janskerk.
