He played a significant role in the efforts leading to the passage and ratification of the United Nations Genocide Convention.
As a writer, Rosenberg's literary interests were diverse. He contributed to the Columbia literary magazine, The Morningside, and co-edited the poetry compilation Columbia Verse.
