In 1927, a pivotal moment arrived when Capogrossi traveled to Paris alongside his contemporary, Fausto Pirandello. This excursion into the epicenter of the avant-garde exposed him to the shifting tides of European modernism, planting the seeds for a stylistic evolution that would eventually strip away representation in favor of pure form.
