Between 1948 and 1953, Carmen Herrera lived in Paris, where she began to develop her artistic production of concrete style. The artist recalls that it was during those years when she was finally able to feel free from academic restrictions and started to perceive pictorial space in a different way. In New York, where she lived from 1954 until her death, she strengthened the basis of a pictorial style in which the creation of distinct color fields prevails.
