hanneke beaumont is a dutch sculptor, born in maastricht in 1947. she is known for her large-scale figurative works in terracotta, bronze, and cast iron. her sculptures often explore the themes of humanity and the human condition, and are characterized by their rough, unrefined surfaces. beaumont started her artistic studies in 1977 at the académie de braine l'alleud, and received her first solo exhibition in 1983. she is a member of the royal society of sculptors.
