His early years were defined by the tactile mastery of craftsmanship, as he learned the intricate skills of building boats and cabinets. This foundational period of manual precision and structural understanding would later inform the meticulous detail found within his compositions. At

the age of twenty-one, Vital moved to Port-au-Prince to further his career in building, yet the seeds of a different creative calling were already beginning to take root.
