Born in 1973 in Považská Bystrica, Slovakia, Patrick Illo emerged from a landscape steeped in glassmaking tradition, yet his artistic voice quickly transcended the conventional. His journey began not within the hallowed halls of fine art academies—though he would later attend the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava—but in the practical workshops of the Secondary Glass School in Lednické Rovne.
