About Edward Lear

A Life Painted in Nonsense and Light

*A Book of Nonsense*, vydaný v roku 1846 pod pseudonymom Derry down Derry, predstavil svet obyvaný lírami, mačkami a ryžami plávajúcimi na zelenobielej lodi, dongmi s luminóznou noskou a ďalšími nádherne zvláštnymi kreáciami. Tieto verše neboli len hravé; boli naplnené jemnou melanchóliou a hravým podvrchom konvencie logiky, zakryté v závere zábavnej frivolite. Lear nedokonal len nesprávne slova; vytvoril celý svet riadený vlastnými vnútornými pravidlami, pozývajúce čitateľov, aby si odložili pochybnosti a prijali radosti fantázie. *The Owl and the Pussy-Cat*, možno jeho najznámejšia poézia, zostáva milovaným klasickým dielom, ktorého trvalý záujem pramení z lyrického rytmu a sugestívnych obrazov.

Inšpirácie a umelecký rozvoj

Vyučil si svetlo, farby a textúry týchto rôznych oblastí, rozvíjajúc jedinečný štýl charakterizovaný topografickou presnosťou a jemným štetcom.

Historická Dôležitost a Trvalý Odkaz
