This critique served as a catalyst, pushing her to explore the concept of excessive beauty and to embrace the unsettling, the messy, and the overwhelming. By leaning into the "gross" or the hyper-saturated, she found a way to confront uncomfortable emotions through a lens of extreme visual pleasure.
