Two Pirates

Two pirates (is a work by the American self-taught artist Todd James (New York, United States, 1969). His visual imagination is made up of exuberant blonde women, Somali pirates (the protagonists of this work), soldiers, missiles, and tanks, all of them in bright colours and unpretentious striking shapes. Pushing the line between raunchy and just plain funny, James puts contemporary life under a graffiti-infused microscope with his hilarious and metaphorical scenes. His work, in addition to fine art, also spans the commercial arts, where he has designed logos and visuals for various internationally renowned artists.
