Zijn levenswerk was diep gewortende in de serene schoonheid van zijn geboorteregio – in het bijzonder de landschappen rondom Luzern en de majestueuze toppen van de Alpen – waarbij hij een geïdealiseerd beeld van het rurale Zwitserland…
