In the golden age of the Northern Renaissance, few artists captured the ethereal beauty of the expanding world as masterfully as Herri met de Bles. This exposure to Italian influences may have enriched his Mannerist sensibilities, allowing him to blend Northern precision with a more dramatic, emotive sense of space and light.
