He studied painting at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York City from 2001 to 2004 but did not graduate. In 2004, he moved to Los Angeles and began working at the bookstore at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art).
Artistic Style and Influences Davis became known for his melancholic portrayals of blurred black figures against barren or shadowy landscapes.
