Early Life and Training Charles Parrocel (1688-1752) was a French painter and engraver born in Paris on May 6, 1688. He descended from a family of artists—his father, Joseph Parrocel, was also a painter—and embraced the artistic tradition passed down through generations. From a young age, Charles studied under his father until Joseph’s untimely death in 1704, subsequently becoming a pupil alongside Bon Boullogne of Charles de la fosse.…
