Rani život i obrazovanje Salvator Rosa, talijanski barokni slikar, pjesnik i grafičar, rođen je u Arenelli kraj Napulja 20. ili 21. lipnja 1615. godine. Njegova majka, Giulia Greca Rosa, pripadala je jednoj od grčkih obitelji Sicilije. Unatoč očevim željama da postane odvjetnik ili svećenik, Salvator je pokazivao sklonost umjetnosti od rane dobi.
