Avelino Rocha was born in Oporto in 1940. He is a retired teacher, graduated by ESBAP / FBAUP and he received a grant from the Gulbenkian Foundation (1957-1962).He held 16 solo exhibitions, participated in several group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad: Angola, Spain, Mexico, Russia, Italy, Iran, New York, Colombia, Switzerland, Brazil, France, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, Bratislava, Medellin and Dominican Republic.In 1990 he participated in CONCRETA EXPERIMENTAL VISUAL, Anthology of Portuguese Visual Poetry (1959-1989) (Palazo Hercolani, Bologna, Italy). He produced works of painting, stained glass, Visual Poetry, ceramics (over 30 panels) and sculpture, from which the homage to MAHAMUD-WELL-AL-DJABBAR in Ediplano space - Mafamude V.N. Gaia stands out.He has works in the museums of Amadeo de Souza Cardoso (Amarante), of Dr. Santos Rocha (Figueira da Foz), of Teixeira Lopes (V.N. Gaia), of Soares dos Reis (Porto), of the Lion Foundation (V. N. Gaia), of the Journalists Training Centre (Porto), and in the 5 Centuries of Design Collection, Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Oporto. On June 26, 2014 he published the book of Visual Poetry
