    Xiang Yuanbian, born in 1525 in Jiaxing, Zhejiang Province, was a figure who transcended the typical boundaries of artist and connoisseur.     Xiang’s journey into the world of art wasn't immediate. He began his career as a lacquer artisan, apprenticed in Suzhou, a city renowned for its craftsmanship.
